School Location
The School of Piano Technology for the Blind is located in Vancouver, Washington, a handsome and historically rich city of nearly 150,000 people on the north bank of the mighty Columbia River. Because of its many cultural, economic and recreational advantages, Vancouver has twice been named an " All-American City." The School of Piano Technology for the Blind is only a few blocks from the restored historic site of Fort Vancouver, a major military and trading post in the mid-19th century.
Vancouver is the center of it all! To the south, just across the Columbia River, is Portland, Oregon, a major metropolitan area. To the north is famous Mount St. Helens - now quiet and newly scenic since its 1980 eruptions. Looking east, we see the beautiful Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Two hours west of Vancouver are fine Pacific Ocean beaches.
Vancouver has a county-wide bus system (C-Tran) that stops several times a day directly in front of the School. It also connects with Portland's Metro system. The School of Piano Technology for the Blind is less than a half hour from Portland International Airport. We think you'll find Vancouver, USA, a fine place to spend your two years of training. You are welcome here!
